Earthworms need attention too!

The work the earthworms do for our soil keeps our world alive! They make land, as if by magic, more fertile. Well, "magic"...: basically earthworms churn up the soil and mix up the nutrients upon which many millions of species depend.

Their work is early in the food chain, but crucial for humans too.

Unfortunately and worrisome: earthworm-numbers are in steep decline. Earthworms may not be as "cute", "sexy" or visible as bees are, but they need love and attention too! We need to do more to protect the earthworms! I was happy to meet this chap when gardening:
